Dilijan National Park is located in the southwestern corner of Tavush Region and includes 24,000 hectares of protected land. It stretches on the slopes of Areguni, Miapor, Halab mountain ranges, at heights of 1070-2400 m above sea level. Dilijan National Park is famous for its forest landscapes, rich biodiversity, healing mineral water sources, natural and cultural monuments. Dilijan National Park was established in 2002 on the basis of the former state reserve with the aim of protecting beech and oak forests, unique fir trees, Caucasian black bear, brown bear and other species, as well as natural and historical architectural monuments. The flora of the National Park includes 902 species of flowering plants, 29 of which are registered in the Red Book of Armenia. Haghartsin, Goshavank, Jukhtak, Matosavank are located in the territory of the reserve. The Visitor Center, located in the National Park Building, provides licensed guides, nature viewing kits, bicycles, and tents.
